Tool List: 2016 Audi S3 Premium Plus Fuel Filler Lock Actuator Swap

Built for a fast driveway job with trunk access on the passenger side. Assumes you already have a donor fuel filler assembly with a working motor. Target time: under 30 minutes.

Vehicle: 2016 Audi S3 (8V)

Required Tools (minimum to finish)

Bring these first
  • Plastic trim removal tools (wide + fork style)
  • T20 Torx driver
  • T25 Torx driver
  • T30 Torx driver
  • Small flathead screwdriver (pick substitute)
  • Needle nose pliers
  • Flashlight or headlamp
  • Magnetic pickup tool (optional but saves time)
  • Microfiber towel or rag
  • 10mm socket + ratchet (only for battery disconnect if desired)
Fast access point: Trunk, passenger side liner. This job does not require bumper removal, wheel removal, or dropping the filler neck.

Fast Workflow Order

Under 30 minutes

    Open trunk Keep a flashlight handy and clear the cargo area.
  2. 2
    Remove trunk floor Lift the floor panel and set it aside.
  3. 3
    Pull right side cargo net hook Use trim tools to avoid scuffs and broken clips.
Time saver: Put removed fasteners in a towel to prevent rolling. If you disconnect the battery, use 10mm. Otherwise, keep the key away from the car and do not cycle locks while unplugged.
